Random/Fun Fact!

In trying to get things set up, I forgot to make an update last week, however, if you’ve been following along on Instagram (thank you!) then you’ve gotten a few.

If not, no better time then now! Follow along @theoffhandedequestrian

That’s not the fun fact though...

Most people are not aware that my incredibly big and loveable Blue (Blue Man or Blue Bear are some of his nick names, the other is the only way my border collies recognize him - Blue Pony), has been made into a cartoon horse.

I got bored one day at work while waiting for tests to run, and we were only a week or two into having started learning drill... so I drew up a cute cartoon horse, riderless, tack flapping around, just happy as a lark, with a flag planted in the ground behind him. With the caption:

“I have no idea what I’m doing.”

Cartooning is not my medium, so be nice.

(I happen to have two other shirts that are worded identical, one is a lab in a coat with lab equipment everywhere, and the other is the same lab dressed as a baker with cake batter everywhere - as I am both a microbiologist and -at the time- a restaurant owner, they were hilarious, but I digress).

Overall, I was quite satisfied with myself and felt it fit and was pretty funny, as we had been the name called over the sound system the most during a few practices.

I thought it would be hilarious to get this made and printed on a shirt and wear to practice.

So I hired someone much more talented than myself at cartoonization (Sarah Walton on Upwork - use her, she’s amazing!)

It was as marvelous as I’d hoped.

And I’ve worn it to clinics and life in general. And it’s become loved and gets a good chuckle from most people ❤️

So I had her make two more!

And that’s the random fact for the day!

(And please don’t steal these images, or otherwise copy or use in any way. They are protected under copyright and that’s just wrong).

And if you’re wondering how accurate it is to our actual attire:

Black pads are for practice :)

Until next time! Get out and ride!

I will be ;)
